How to Make a Pastrami Sandwich

Pastrami sandwiches are of many types and ingredients. It is exclusively known as the beef dish in the Jewish and the American regions. Where as in the Romanian tradition, sheep meat was used and over time, pork became the prevalent choice. The Romanians have different specifications with the kinds of pastrami.

It is mostly served as cold cut sandwich, but depending upon individual’s choice and preference it can be also heated. One example of this kind of pastrami is the fried pastrami, with corn mamaliga and green onions. As with corned beef, the pastrami was created as a method for preserving meat from spoilage. This was the period when the modern refrigerators were not present. Now this technique is not necessary, but traditional pastrami sandwich lovers still go for this style of preparation.

In New York, the traditional sandwich is prepared from the navel end of the brisket. It is because the amount of fat is considerably high in this section than that of the chest area. The pastrami is first cured in brine like corned beef, and then it is coated with mixture of spices. The pastrami is usually served after heating it, in a rye bread sandwich along with Russian dressings sometimes. Nowadays old-fashioned Jewish delicatessens are rarely found, thus making it difficult to obtain an authentic pastrami sandwich.

The Turkey pastrami sandwich is made by processing the ground turkey similarly fashioned like red meat pastrami. However, the texture and the flavor found in this style are different from the red meat pastramis. One of the best recipes used for preparing the pastrami sandwiches are as below. The ingredients mentioned are for only one serving.

So when it is required to be made for number of people, then increase the proportion accordingly.
* 6 ounces of nicely sliced pastrami
* 2 tablespoons of whole-grain mustard
* 4 ounces of beer
* 3 slices onion in which its rings are intact
* 1 tablespoon oil
* Salt and pepper for taste

Two slices of thick crusty brown bread or rye bread will be enough. Initially preheat the grill or the frying pan, whatever is available. Spice-up the onions using salt, pepper, and brush with oil. After seasoning it with the ingredients mentioned, combine the beer and the mustard. It can be done in a small saucepan and then brought in a bowl. Now add pastrami and cook it for three minutes. Grill onions on both sides and toast bread on the part of the grill that is cooler. When all the ingredients are properly heated, the sandwich can be prepared by placing the pastrami in the sandwiches. Thus, it can be served either hot or cold.

The other way to make the pastrami sandwiches are by considering the following ingredients

* 2 deli top quality crusty buns
* Mayonnaise and Beef Pastrami deli slices
* thinly sliced Red onions and Dijon mustard
* thinly sliced Kosher dill pickles
* Leafy green lettuce

It is easily done by cutting the buns in two halves by spreading one side with mustard and the other by mayonnaise. Build up the sandwich with several slices of pastrami, and all the above-mentioned ingredients and serve it.

How to Know If Italy or America Made Pizza!

The food known as pizza today is actually a very Italian food. The very first pizza was created during the 19th Century and is a very recent addition to Italian cuisine. This news may sound surprising considering how simple a culinary invention pizza is: flat bread, tomato sauce, and of course cheese. Although astounding, there lies a fascinating explanation as to why there was such a delay in this food’s invention and it deals with a ubiquitous fruit!

Although pizza is a strictly Italian food, Pizza’s ancestors have their origins deep in Greece. The original ancestors of the Romans migrated from Greece. With the Greeks came the foods that eventually became the common fare of Italians. The breads, herbs, and other foods Italians loved were therefore ripe for becoming pizza. The recipes that predate pizza are ancient; these foods fed men and women for thousands of years. Each ancient comestible recipe is in itself a piece of history.

Is Pizza Italian or American? That is a question many individuals may not know. Perhaps the lack of discernment is a direct result of the relatively young age of this omnipresent, popular dish loved by Americans. Despite America’s love of Pizza, Italians have long held the impressive boast of being the source of one of the world’s favorite foods.

Before the advent of pizza, breads were cooked with herbs and served with meals or as the meal itself. A common bread we use today like this is focaccia bread. Focaccia bread is bread that has its toppings literally cooked in it. Common focaccia bread toppings include cheese, herbs, spices, and vegetables such as fresh olives or sun-dried tomatoes. The ingredients used to make focaccia are quire reminiscent of pizza. The taste of focaccia is certainly amazing, and in Italy, the bread is a popular snack food.

The first to have baked focaccia bread were the early Greeks who migrated to Italy. If these peoples did not, then the Romans most certainly can be credited with the invention. The Romans were quite fond of breads that had toppings baked onto or in them. The Romans of course loved food. The Romans love of food is even evident in what was considered to be a cultural norm: vomiting after meals. The Romans practice of vomiting was not due to a bulimic mindset; rather, vomiting would empty the contents of the stomach and allow the person to eat again immediately.

Each ingredient is thoroughly mixed with the dough and baked to produce a robust, flavorful, and thoroughly enjoyable experience for the pallet. Olive oil is commonly used to garnish the bread.

Aside from Focaccia bread, there are many other types of seasoned breads and flat breads that bear much resemblance early forms of pizza. You will find that the early Greeks, as aforementioned, who colonized Italy can be attributed to planting the proverbial seeds of Italian cuisine. Doing a little research can reveal a interesting history and inform you of the origins of food.

This article really doesn’t do justice to this topic like my website’s comprehensive article on the man who created pizza: Rafael Esposito. The story is both interesting and is a useful piece of trivia. Relating this tid-bit of knowledge at parties or while eating out can be fun for your companions. In addition to discussing the origins of pizza, I go into some detail about how to make pizza. From dough to sauce to cheese to toppings, nearly everything is covered at my site.

Free Chicken Recipes ? 2 of the Best Free Chicken Recipes

Many people have come to see chicken as bland, boring, and common because they eat it so often.  This doesn’t have to be the case, though!  With a few free chicken recipes, you can spice up your repertoire of dishes and make dinner interesting again.  Here are two of the best free chicken recipes.

1. Chicken Parmesan

A traditional Italian dish like chicken parmesan may seem intimidating, but it really is one of the easiest free chicken recipes!  All you need are boneless, skinless chicken breasts, flour, eggs, bread crumbs, and dry Italian seasonings like oregano and basil.

Using three shallow pie pans, make a flour pan, an egg wash pan, and a breadcrumb pan.  Season the flour and bread crumbs.  Dip and thoroughly coat each breast in flour, then egg wash, then bread crumbs and brown both sides in a nonstick skillet with olive oil.  Once you’ve browned all the pieces you’re going to make, put them in a 350 degree oven for 10-15 minutes or until cooked through.  That’s it for one of my favorite free chicken recipes!

2. Chicken Stir Fry

This is probably the easiest of all free chicken recipes.  Simply cut your chicken pieces into boneless cubes.  I like to use skinless breasts, but you can use most parts of the chicken.  Brown them in canola oil in a very hot pan along with whatever veggies you like, and add teriyaki sauce, ginger, and a bit of citrus zest and juice, if you like.  Serve this and other free chicken recipes over steamed rice for a great, complete meal.

Don Giovanni Italian Restaurant In Bangkok

Don Giovanni, the Italian restaurant in the Sofitel Centara Grand Hotel, is indeed named for what may the greatest opera of all time. At least, that’s what the menu introduction here says and not being an opera buff I can’t comment on that one way or another. However, I do know that they orchestrate some very nice dining experiences as I’ve had dinners and lunches here on a number of occasions over the years and have always been satisfied with the food and service.

Some parts of the menu have changed over the years and some have stayed the same as different chefs have come and gone. However, the basic philosophy has remained in place and that involves serving top-quality food and wine with formal service and attention to details. Also, the menu always has always had many traditionally-based dishes as well as some updated versions of classic dishes from the chefs’ own repertoires.

One thing that is definitely classic at Don Giovanni is their strict adherence to the traditional way of making a Caesar’s Salad. This is, I believe, the only place in town where you can get a Caesar’s Salad made at your tableside. This may not seem like a big deal but to some purists a Caesar is not a Caesar unless it’s made at the table. I’m not that strict about it personally but I do think that the original recipe should be followed or it’s really not a Caesar Salad is it? Many times I have eaten in a trendy Italian place, or others too, and the chef in the restaurant decides that his interpretation of a Caesar Salad is superior to that of Chef Caesar Cardini who originated this creation in his Tijuana, Mexico restaurant in 1924. The results sometimes are ludicrous with the chef throwing in everything but the kitchen sink in a vain attempt to put his personal mark on this signature dish. They should just do themselves a favor and follow the original recipe as they do at Don Giovanni’s. It will taste better, the purists will be happy and the gastronomic gods will smile upon them.

There are other dishes here, though, where the chefs have used their own ideas as to how certain dishes should be presented. I don’t always agree with them: carpaccio, for example, should be made of beef and not tuna or veal, but usually we’re on the same page, so to speak. In the appetizer section there’s a great example of mixing top-end ingredients when they serve a goose liver cr?me brulee with pan-fried foie gras, apple mousse and black truffle sauce. The richness of foie gras and truffles together is just plain delicious and only on the edge of overdoing it.

The rest of this ample menu contains enough choices to keep anyone happy whether you want something simple like spaghetti with an oregano and tomato sauce or something a little more elaborate like a baked rack of lamb with black pepper crust and tarragon-infused lamb sauce. My own favorites include the deep-fried seafood plate, the Australian sirloin and the pan-roasted tenderloin wrapped in pancetta bacon with foie gras. There are many more that I like from all the sections of the menu – risottos, pastas, soups, appetizers and the meat and fish entrees – but these are the ones that have left the deepest impression.
There are plenty of good wines to accompany your meal here as well in the enclosed wine cellar inside the restaurant. These, along with the service and the food here, will have you singing Don Giovanni’s praises yourself, perhaps not in an operatic style, but joyously nonetheless.

Turning on an Electric Cooking Grill is Easy Task

Quite a number of people love cooking. Not only do these people love cooking, they also enjoy showing off their culinary prowess to others. Rather they are also love to show off their culinary skills to their friends and relatives to make them envious. The best way to achieve this is to show off the same using the latest cooking grill available in the market. There are quite a number of cooking grills available in the market. It depends on your personal choice to select the type of cooking grill you shall be comfortable with. Some people believe in what others recommend. They cannot make up their own mind. They buy makes of cooking grills as has been suggested by their relative and friends.
Those who follow traditional methods still use charcoal grills and are comfortable with them.
Charcoal grills, no doubt are advantageous over different types of cooking grills. Foods cooked in the same tend to be tastier. Only a connoisseur can make out the difference in foods cooked using propane grills and food cooked using charcoal grills. It has been noticed that there are some people who repose more faith in the words of their friends. For more details www.thanks-giving-recipes.com.Also, there are some people who are interested in just showing off. Turning on an electric cooking grill is easy task but it is not the same with charcoal grills. Just watch carefully when a charcoal grill is being prepared and you will be amazed to see the amount of meticulous work that goes into it. Charcoal pellets have to be dumped on the receiver of the grill and lighter fluid has to be poured on it.
Once this part is done, the charcoal pellets have to be set alight by applying fire to it. Compare this with lighting a propane grill and you’ll find the difference. One already has the gas connection ready and attached with the propane-cooking grill. Turn on the main lever to permit the gas to flow. Now turn the knob of the burner to the on position and apply fire to it to set it alight. Modern propane cooking grills integrate the lighter with the knob. Turning the knob to `on’ flashes the gas flowing from the burner, setting it alight. We have mentioned two types of grill above, but there is a third one too.
This grill is powered by electric and is known as an electric grill. Since it runs on electric, there is no question of burners and over here one will find plates instead. These plates are constructed of metal or fiber and a coil is attached to the bottom of the plate. For more details www.300-chicken-recipe.com.When electricity passes through these coils made out of resistance wire, it cannot flow properly because of the resistance offered by the wire and this converts the electric energy to heat energy that heats up the plate. Electric grills and propane grills come with integrated thermometers. These thermometers are quite handy and allow the user to set the correct temperature required for cooking a particular dish.
